ACMP Colorado open board positions

Board positions have two-year terms + 3 months advisory transition. Elected board members will begin terms in January 2026 and complete terms in March 2028.

Nominations Form

Board President

The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Chapter and is responsible for implementing the strategic plans and policies of the Chapter. The President is subject to the authority of the Board, has general supervision over the affairs of the Chapter and presides over Board meetings.


Estimated Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per month

General Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a cohesive Board that will meet the needs of the Chapter members 
  • Plan and execute a strategic planning workshop of the Board annually to develop new strategic direction, review and refine the strategy in progress, or assess performance 
  • Chair regular meetings of the Chapter Board of Directors 
  • Monitor, motivate, and support activities of all Board Directors to ensure alignment and progress with the strategic plan; create opportunities to leverage each Director’s expertise/skills
  • Plan and coordinate team-building activities to support Board cohesion and effectiveness 
  • Produce monthly report or summary of updates from Global for inclusion in the Chapter Board minutes. 
  • Ensure the governance of the Chapter is supported by relevant Bylaws and appropriate policies, and oversee administrative operations 
  • Perform other duties as they pertain to the office of Chapter President 

Special Notes

  • The Chapter President is an Executive Officer role and voting member of the Board 
  • The President is the Chairperson of the Chapter Board of Directors 
  • The President is the primary liaison and represents the Chapter with ACMP Global and other external stakeholders 

Key Skills

  • Previous Board of Directors experience is mandatory 
  • A minimum of one year of service on the Colorado Chapter’s board is required. 
  • Knowledge of cabinet‐type board structures and parliamentary procedure 
  • Leadership and delegation skills 
  • Strategic thinking 
  • Organizational, facilitation, and communication skills 
  • Dedication 
  • Diplomacy 
  • Ability to demonstrate change management knowledge and experience 

Board Secretary

The main responsibility of the Secretary is to ensure all Chapter records are accurately kept and all information assets are regularly maintained and managed, by the owners, in accordance with Chapter Bylaws, policies, and applicable regulations (e.g.: privacy, etc.).  The Secretary shall record notes of all proceedings at such meetings and ensure proper custodial ownership of all online records, papers, documents and other instruments belonging to the Chapter.


Estimated Time Commitment: 6-8 hours per month

General Responsibilities

  • Manage Chapter administration and operations under the guidance of the President 
  • Partner with Governance Director and applicable Board Directors to exercise stewardship for all official Chapter records (By‐laws, policies, motions, plans, correspondence, attendance, etc.); ensures the Board acts in a timely manner for notices or activities required by governance documents, e.g. notices to members, required reviews of Bylaws, summary reports to ACMP Global, etc.) 
  • Oversee the administration of the chapter’s digital collaboration platform (Google Workspace) to ensure the preservation of all digital records and collaboration assets.  
  • Manage member requests for information in accordance with the By‐laws and local privacy requirements 
  • Support the President in the arranging and facilitating of regular and special Board meetings, including managing agendas and action items, and producing accurate and timely minutes
  • Provide administrative/operational support to the Directors of the Board, and Committee Chairs, as needed 
  • Perform other duties as they pertain to the office of the Secretary or assigned by the President 

Special Notes

  • The Secretary is an Executive Officer role and voting member of the Board 
  • The Secretary fulfills a back‐up role for the Treasurer as needed 

Key Skills

  • Previous Board of Directors experience (recommended) 
  • Understanding of parliamentary procedure 
  • Strong organizational skills (skilled in using desktop and collaboration tools to manage information) 
  • Skilled in record keeping and attention to detail in particular
  • Time management and administrative facilitation skills 
  • Ability to demonstrate change management knowledge and experience
