ACMP Colorado open board positions

ACMP Colorado is looking to fill two open board positions.

The Technology Director position is new. The term will begin in early May 2026 and end at the end of 2027 (+ 3 months advisory transition in 2028.) The Communication Director will be an interim role from May 2026 and serve through December 2026, with the opportunity to choose to seek re-election for a new term. If re-elected, the total duration would be ~2.5 year term.


Applications will be received through April 10th, 2026 and decisions will be made upon identification of the right candidate.

Communications Director

The Communications Director is responsible for directing and managing internal and external communications. This role will also oversee the Communications Committee to drive multi-channel chapter communications to prospective, new and existing members as well as to evaluate the efficacy of chapter communication/communication channels and recommend corrective action, if needed.


Estimated Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per month

General Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Chapter external communications 
  • Contribute to Board strategic planning/execution by providing an annual Communications and (i.e.: approach, goals, metrics, timing, resources), periodic progress reports, and regular status as required by Chapter operational protocols 
  • Manage, train, delegate, and share information with communications committee volunteers to ensure a quality volunteer experience, smooth communications operation, and succession planning 
  • Establish a Chapter brand and communication standards and guidelines, guided by and in compliance with those of ACMP Global as needed 
  • Establish, publish, and maintain a 3-4-month rolling calendar of general communication and marketing activities, guided by the annual survey outcomes and Chapter goals and approved plans; liaise with Board peers as needed to define specific communications needs and develop content (e.g. for the monthly newsletter or social media) 
  • Co‐ordinate advertising, public relations, and other marketing or promotional activities in support of the Chapter 
  • Oversee the Chapter website and LinkedIn; train and provide Board and committee members with the ability to make updates specific to their lane (e.g. Governance → election information)
  • Produce monthly report or summary of communications activities (content calendar updates, social media followers, website stats, etc.) for inclusion in the Chapter Board minutes. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time to serve Chapter members, such as special projects, and further the work of the Board

Technology director

The main responsibility of the Technology Director is to oversee the Chapter’s technology ecosystem and ensure that systems, tools, and data practices effectively support the Chapter’s mission, operations, and strategic goals. The Technology Director works closely with officers and other directors to ensure technology is reliable, secure, well-governed, and leveraged to enhance the member experience, while also keeping scalability in mind for chapter growth, evolution, and maturity.


Estimated Time Commitment: 6-8 hours per month

General Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory
    • Digital Roadmap: Develop and maintain a 1–3 year technology strategy that supports the organization’s overarching goals.
    • Investment Guidance: Work closely with the Treasurer to evaluate the ROI of tech expenditures and manage the digital budget.
    • Risk Mitigation: Advise the board on cybersecurity threats, data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), and disaster recovery planning.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Stack Optimization: Audit and streamline the "Tech Stack" (CRM, Email, Project Management tools) to reduce redundancy and friction.
    • Vendor Management: Lead the selection and oversight of third-party technical vendors or managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Member Engagement
    • User Experience (UX): Ensure that member-facing platforms (websites, portals, apps) are intuitive, accessible, and add value to the membership.
    • Data Insights: In partnership with Membership Chair, provide the Marketing/Communications Director with data-driven insights to help personalize member outreach and improve retention.

Key Skills

  • Technical background with the ability to translate concepts into practical, board-level recommendations
  • Data- and process-oriented mindset (e.g., clean data, simple workflows, clear documentation)
  • Organized, reliable, and attentive to operational detailsRisk-aware with the ability to identify vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities
  • Experience evaluating and managing technology tools, including collaboration platforms and AI solutions
  • Collaborative approach and prior nonprofit Board experience preferred
